About SianSian Jones initially studied English at Bristol University, where she appeared as Phyllis (Iolanthe, Bristol Operatic Society) before starting her vocal training at Trinity College of Music and then at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating from both with Distinction. In 2005-6, she was a member of Vlaamse International Opera Studio in Belgium, where she appeared in many performance projects and also appeared as Micaela (Carmen) and Atalanta (Xerxes), performed Italian bel canto arias with Vlaamse Radio Orkest and appeared in song recital with Graham Johnson. Other recent roles include Rose Maybud (Ruddigore - Buxton G&S Festival), Musetta (La Boheme - Dartington International Festival), Pamina (Magic Flute - Surrey Opera), First Lady and Helena (Magic Flute & Midsummer Night's Dream - British Youth Opera), Clorinda (La Cenerentola). She has performed internationally as a soloist in concert and oratorio in major venues in the UK, such as the Royal Festival Hall, St Johns Smiths Square, Ely Cathedral and St-Martins-in-the-Fields as well as in Spain, Italy and Belgium. |
